  1. What does the outage map show?
  2. The map shows where power is out in the City of Idaho Falls. For each outage case, the map displays an icon within the outage area. By clicking on the icon, you can navigate to the outage area in more detail. The extent of the outage is highlighted, and a ticket is displayed showing details such as the start time, number of customers affected, and if known, the cause and estimated restoration time. The map updates as crews share more information. It may take 5-10 minutes for the map to update.

  4. If you have information to report concerning the cause or location of an outage (such as a vehicle collision with a pole or transformer), you can include this in the message section of the outage report or by calling us at 208-612-8430.

  5. Why did my restore time change?
  6. Early times are best guesses. Times may change if damage is worse than first thought.

  7. Why does another area get power back before mine?
  8. Crews first fix lines that bring power to the most people. Some fixes take longer than others.

  9. What should I do while waiting for power?
  10. Keep fridge doors closed, turn off lights and unplug sensitive gear to help avoid damage.
